Common Threads----Poetry Discussion Project of Mass Poetry
Common Threads is the poetry discussion project of Mass Poetry. Guest Editor of the fifth edition, Alice Kociemba, has this to say about the theme:
"The overarching theme of this fifth edition of Common Threads is love—a reverence for life and a zest for living that is intensified at moments of birth and death, the cherishing of one's birthplace and a longing for what has been left behind, a passion for peace and respect for poetry itself as witness, and finally, the precious and precarious beauty of nature. Each of these eight poems reveals love's common threads."
Visit the website, www.masspoetry.org/commonthreads to download a free PDF of the poems, discussion questions, an essay by Robert Pinsky, writing prompts, and suggestions for facilitating a discussion group at your local library, bookstore, coffee shop, or with friends or your book group or writers group. Once you schedule a group in your area, Mass Poetry will list it on its statewide.
